BLOMP | Synology Hyper Backup API error

Hello!

While running Synology Hyper Backup to backup a volume of my NAS to BLOMP, the task got suspended and won't resume. The log gave me the following information which could be useful to review:

Image

Code: Select all

[OpenStack Swift][BLOMP OS Swift] Exception occurred while backing up data. [Reason: Container PUT failed: http://swiftproxy.acs.ai.net:8080/v1/AUTH_<redacted>/mail%40<redacted>.nl 403 Forbidden [first 60 chars of response] b'<html><h1>Forbidden</h1><p>Access was denied to this resourc']
Any idea as to what this can be? Is the file too large? Specific characters that aren't compatible? Too long filename?

Hello Blomper,

Good day! :)
We are currently reviewing your open ticket.

Please be informed that if the file exceeds 5GB, Swift requires it to be split into chunks, similar to how Amazon S3 handles it. Synology should handle this automatically.

Synology should be okay with UTF-9 characters and there shouldn't be any file name length restrictions that we know of. If Synology can store it, we can back it up.

Can you please let us know the exact file size you are trying to upload?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Hey!

Basically this is a backup of multiple folders. Synology Hyper Backup doesn't give any per-file feedback as far as I know. The backup got suspended and the error log-line is the one I shared in my OP here.

No other information to provide unfortunately.

Regards,

Hi theoxis,

Thank you for the reply.
We are discussing the issue with Synology but we would need the specific model name of your Synology NAS device in order to proceed. We already requested this information in the ticket "BLOMP | Synology Hyper Backup" https://support.blomp.com/viewtopic.php ... dfa9bce661.

We are looking forward to receiving your response as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation.
